Last night was the Grands Prix du Design Gala at the Casino de Montréal where more than 800 guests, professionals and their clients, gathered to celebrate design excellence. It is our honor to announce that LEMAYMICHAUD has won an award in the «accommodation, well-being and recreational» category for the Hôtel Le Germain Toronto Mercer room renovation project.

Our mandate was to design a new concept, updating the image of the rooms while keeping the essence of the original design based on Le Groupe Germain’s values as well as client’s comfort. Our wish was to create a cocoon-like space with an inviting and muted ambiance for the bedroom and a fresh and spa-like feeling for the bathroom. The use of current materials, such as wood and metal, as well as the application of felt and enveloping hues on the walls ties the design together. The final touch, a sense and feeling of lightness, is achieved through the addition of subdued lighting, custom carpeting and an original art piece. The bathroom feels fresh, bright and light, contrasting with the softer and serene bedroom.
