This project consisted in renovating the food court of Québec City’s Place Québec shopping complex to provide a signature space for the Québec City Convention Centre/Centre des Congrès de Québec. LEMAYMICHAUD worked with the constraints of the existing building and massive structural elements to develop a unique, distinguished, contemporary concept accommodating 11 new conference rooms along with space for social events.

The transformation of the building’s façade along Honoré-Mercier’s street forcefully underscores the convention centre’s presence at the doorstep of the Old Town. The sweeping outdoor terrace is sheltered by a steel awning whose ceiling, equipped with programmable dynamic lighting, continues into the building’s interior to remarkable effect.
