Panache Restaurant
Québec (Québec)
85
Panache is nestled inside the 19th-century Vallerand Warehouse, one of three historical buildings comprising the Auberge Saint-Antoine boutique hotel in Québec City’s Old Town.
The open fireplace, stone walls, exposed wooden beams, and metal staircase leading to a mezzanine all combine to create a sense of history that is one of the restaurant’s unique assets, along with the panoramic views of the Saint Lawrence River from its broad windows and outdoor terrace.
To underscore this historic ambience, LEMAYMICHAUD chose subtle background lighting, with modern and period decorative lighting fixtures as accents. Banquettes running along the stone walls on both the main floor and the mezzanine organize the space to enhance intimacy, while a bar, fireplace, and oval table at the restaurant’s centre create a convivial space for friends to gather. All materials and finishes were chosen so as to preserve the historic appearance of the site.
