The Méga Parc, an out of the ordinary construction site at the Galeries de la Capitale

Last september, LEMAYMICHAUD and Oxford Properties Group started a new project in les Galeries de la Capitale shopping center in Québec. Opened in 1988, it is now the time for the Méga Parc to get a complete makeover. The 52M$ investment adds up to the various additions and changes made by the owners concerned with continually upgrading the experience of its clientele.

The most important interior amusement park in the East of Canada will now have an industrial theme with a ‘retro-futuristic’ style. Many additions will be integrated such as the first Ferris wheel without spokes in North America, a twice as high drop tower and a 230m interior skating trail.

Let’s also highlight that RevelHouse, the Toronto based firm specialized in creating entertaining environments, has been mandated for the creation of this new concept.

Thus, the Galeries de la Capitale is following the international trend that consists in offering an enhanced shopping experience through supplementary amusement installations.

The construction works should last between 15 and 18 months and the reopening is planned for December 2018.
